Penn State University Health Service: HealthWorks
Peer Health Educator
August 2014-Present
As a peer health educator for HealthWorks, I am on the Mission Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Eating Disorder teams. Within these teams, I provide health education programs, information, and handouts on nutrition, body image, and physical activity for the Penn State community. In order to obtain this position, I passed a semester long training class and currently complete 45 hours of service a semester. As a trainee, I helped create a poster campaign to raise awareness about caffeine abuse. The campaign was implemented at Penn State the following semester.
As a HealthWorks member, I also help edit and brain storm script ideas for healthy eating demo videos, as well as, create Meatless Monday recipes for Penn State's healthy living blog. Through HealthWorks, I was able to positively reach the Penn State Community by writing an article about winter hydration for the campus newspaper.

Penn State Student Nutrition Association
Community Service Board Member
Janurary 2013-Present
I have been a member of SNA at Penn State for the past four years. This organization has given me an immense opportunity to learn more about the profession of dietetics, as well as, the ability to network with various professionals and alumni. For the past year I have served on the community service board for SNA. With a few other students, I helped to plan and implement a variety of service activities, including weekly nutrition lessons for students in the Lifelink Special Education Program at Penn State, monthly nutrition lessons at Stepping Stones, a local transitional living facility, and volunteer events at the State College Food Bank.

Penn State Dance MaraTHON
Student Volunteer
August 2012-Present
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, also known as THON, is the largest student run philanthropy in the world, which helps raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer. As a student volunteer, I helped "can" and fundraise with the Student Nutrition Association, in order to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund. I have been a THON volunteer since 2012, and plan to keep donating and volunteering long after graduation.
